My Target Gardening Picks

In Blog by Frances Largeman-Roth

Hi Friends! It’s finally spring and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I can’t wait to get into my garden and start planting some veggies and flowers that will delight us all summer long.

I love my local garden shop, but it’s expensive. When I want to get all my basics without breaking the bank, I head to Target. This is what I picked up on my last haul:

Threshold Gardening Gloves: Whether you’re trying to save your manicure or just protect your hands from nicks and irritation, you need a pair of gloves when you’re digging in the dirt. This pair is so cute and I love that they’re cinched at the wrist to keep out the dirt ($10).

Indoor/Outdoor Planter Pot with Stand: Finding a large, attractive planter for less than $100 is a tall order these days. This one is perfect for both indoor plants (think money tree) or a lovely assortment of cascading vines and flowers for outdoor use. The brass stand helps to offset the round white planter and there is a central draining hole to prevent standing water from damaging roots ($60)

Back to the Roots 5-pack of Flower Seeds: Brighten your garden and attract pollinators like butterflies with this mix of organic, non-GMO flower seeds. You get zinnia, sunflower, marigold, cosmos and English lavender. Imagine how great your garden will look and smell ($22.99)

Back to the Roots Organic Potting Mix: Whether you’re planting flowers or vegetable seeds in a container, you’ll need a good potting mix. This one contains plant food to help those tomatoes and cucumbers grow nice and big ($7.99)

Buzzy Seeds Windowsill Pollinator Garden: This is the perfect project to get your kids excited about gardening and helping the planet! It comes with a galvanized metal plater, seeds to grow coneflower and black-eyed Susans, growing pellets and easy-to-follow instructions ($9.99).
