Snacks for Holiday Movies!

The holidays are here! It’s a hectic time for most of us and one thing I love to do to relax is kick back for a while and get lost in a classic holiday movie. And if you really want to get into the spirit, try one of my festive snacks that I’ve paired up with one of our favorite holiday films. Which one will you be watching! Drop me a note!

The Grinch: There are several versions of this Dr. Seuss tale, but the one I enjoy most is the newest one, with Benedict Cumberbatch as the Grinch. No one can out-green the Grinch, but my Emerald Muffins come close and will certainly put you in the mood for this heart-warming movie.

Love Actually: Ok, this one isn’t entirely kid-appropriate, but it just delights every time we watch it. It is Hugh Grant at his most charming, in my opinion. And it’s a wonderful reminder that love actually is all around. Since it takes place in London, I recommend sipping on this Hot Toddy, with or without the whiskey.

Elf: I recently rewatched this and was so impressed by Will Ferrel’s physical comedy. He really has you believing in Santa, the elves and the whole bit. Since an elf’s main food groups are candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup, you have to enjoy something sweet with this fun film. I suggest my Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies, which never disappoint and can be left out for Santa on the 24th.

A Charlie Brown Christmas: Get ready to be transported back to 2nd grade with this family classic. Remember the scene where Charlie Brown’s friends transform the spare little tree that he brings home? One of the decorations is a popcorn garland, so it’s fitting to snack on this Popcorn Trail Mix while you’re watching.

The Holiday: Starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Jude Law, this romantic comedy is just right for a girls’ night in. There’s a scene where Diaz’ character goes into a gourmet store and buys literally everything while drinking a bottle of red wine, so I paired up a Snack Tray (shown above) for this one. And please wait until you’re home to uncork the wine.

My Rum Balls go with absolutely any Hallmark Holiday Movie. Give them a try and I bet you’ll agree!
