Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and of course I love to make a spooky snack tray for family and friends to enjoy!

These Fright Night Fruit Skewers from my book, Everyday Snack Tray, are easy to make, but make a big impact on any snack or party tray.

FRIGHT NIGHT FRUIT SKEWERS

MAKES 8 SERVINGS

8 firm kiwi

1 medium cantaloupe or honeydew melon

8 large marshmallows

8 wooden skewers

Candy eyes

Edible ink pen (such as Bakerpen)

Honey or nut butter (to attach candy eyes)

  1. Peel the kiwis, slice in half widthwise and set aside. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
  2. Cut the melon in half; scoop out and discard the seeds. Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out 8 melon rounds and set aside.
  3. Blot all the fruit with paper towels. On the baking sheet, assemble the fruit and marshmallow skewers in whatever order you like.
  4. Use honey or nut butter to attach the candy eyes to the fruit. Use the edible ink pen to draw faces on the marshmallows. Carefully transfer skewers to snack tray and let the goblins gobble them up!
