Campfire Rice Krispy Treats

This fun recipe is from my cookbook, Everyday Snack Tray. Before you say that you can’t decorate to save your life, let me stop you. You can, because these are really easy! If you can use a cookie cutter and a tube of toothpaste, I guarantee you can add flames to these puffed rice treats. The decorating icing comes in a pouch, and it’s really easy to squeeze out—promise! I found my campfire cookie cutter on Amazon.

INGREDIENTS

Cooking spray

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 (10-ounce) package marshmallows

6 cups puffed rice cereal

Orange decorating icing (such as Wilton)

Semisweet chocolate chips

1.  Spray a 9 × 13-inch baking dish with cookIng spray.

2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Remove from heat.

3. Stir in the cereal until it is fully coated with marshmallow and transfer to the prepared dish.

4. Spray a spatula with cooking spray and press down on the cereal mixture until even. Use a campfire cookie cutter to cut out shapes.

5. Use decorating icing to fill in the campfire flames. Press the pointed ends of the chocolate chips into the rice treat in an X pattern

to resemble logs. ENJOY!
