I wrote the title to this blog and then immediately thought it sounded like I was going into rehab, and I nearly changed it. But I really do want to talk about New Beginnings, Fresh Starts, and the like. Since I left my magazine job two months ago, my life has changed drastically. Instead of sprinting like a mad woman from home to daycare to work and then work to daycare to home, I can now actually take complete breaths throughout the day.
Mornings are still as hectic and early as ever with a 7 month-old crawler and a 3 year-old busybody, but I'm able to control the chaos in a much less stressed, much more positive way. And yes, work and deadlines still beckon, but I can squeeze in a 10-minute cuddle with Leo or a spin class in the middle of the day. I'm lucky--I know it. And I definitely am relishing everything that comes with having the flexibility of working from home, including making baby food and cooking more healthy family meals.
I'll be updating you more frequently on everything I'm up to--and there should be some exciting news soon. One thing I can share is that I'm going to be Cooking Light's TV spokesperson. I'm thrilled because I'll get to talk about a magazine that has been part of my life for at least the past 15 years. I'll be sure to post upcoming segments on my events calendar.
I hope you've all got your own New Beginnings this spring. I'd love to hear about them!
