It's very similar to my favorite drink, the Kir Royale.

LE ROYALE

Makes 1 serving

1 teaspoon black cherry juice concentrate (or pomegranate juice)

3 ounces white grape juice, chilled

3 ounces sparkling water, chilled

Pour the black cherry juice concentrate into the bottom of a champagne flute. Add the grape juice and then the sparkling water. Grab someone special and plant a big kiss on them!

Only 48 calories--enjoy!

Happy New Year!

It's fun being back on a college campus again. I haven't stepped foot on the Cornell campus in a dozen years. Makes me a little nostalgic...sniff. And it's my first night away from the baby. I already miss her, but I can't wait for my date with the fluffy white bed in my hotel room. It will be my first decent night's sleep in 8 months for g-d's sake!

The workshop will be filled with both nutrition and journalism students, which is a nice mix, but definitely a challenge for a presenter. OK, off to brush up the PowerPoint (thanks Jon:>).

And for pregnant women, it's especially important. I taped a podcast this week with WDBO's Dr. Susan Mitchell on holiday food safety for pregnancy. Give it a listen! You'll find out why it's safer to choose cheddar and corn chips over brie and beluga caviar. And why you should give mom's rumballs a pass if you've got a bun in the oven.
